About Us

Sigma Limited is a Hong Kong company specializing in mobile applications, primary in advertising, marketing, and customer relationship management (CRM).

Our main development office is located in Kowloon, Hong Kong. We also have an office in North America in Chevy Chase, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, DC.

Management

Our founder, Mark Westling, has been working in mobile phone advertising for over ten years. He left a career in pattern recognition, data mining, and AI at the MITRE Corporation in the late '90s to join Spotcast Communications and build one of the first mobile advertising platforms, which provided audio ad-subsidized calls for subscribers in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Paris.

As Spotcast's CTO and VP of Engineering, Mark created the architecture of this platform and led its development and deployment until the technology was sold in 2001 to Leap Wireless, which operates under the brand Cricket in the United States. Mark joined Leap as VP of Engineering and brought his team with him to adapt the platform for use in CRM.

Mark later became VP of Engineering at Lightningcast, Inc., a streaming video advertising company that has since been acquired by Advertising.com (part of AOL). The Lightningcast Platform was used by AOL, ABC News, and several U.S. cable television networks to serve ads for their online video content.
